Opening Reception: Rooted Resistance
Rooted Resistance: Opening Reception
Thursday, October 16, 2025 | 6-8 PM
Location: Old Stone House & Washington Park
336 3rd Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215
Join us for the opening reception of Rooted Resistance: Art, Care and Environmental Activism, a thought-provoking exhibition curated by Mother Creatrix Collective members Allison Belolan, Katherine Gressel, Caroline McAuliffe, and Jocelyn Russell.
This celebration launches an exhibition that examines the intersections of creative practice, caregiving, and ecological advocacy. Featuring works by 18 artists and community groups, Rooted Resistance explores how caregiving and familial concerns catalyze environmental action while artistic practice offers essential tools for imagining more just ecological futures.
The evening will offer the opportunity to view indoor gallery works as well as outdoor and site-responsive installations throughout Washington Park. Meet the artists, enjoy light refreshments, and be part of a conversation about art, care, and climate action.
