Nina Wood

Nina Wood lives and maintains an art studio on the south shore of Long Island in New York, close to where she spent her childhood. She is an art educator in the public-school districts on Long Island and holds a BFA and MFA in painting. Nina's artwork is motivated by her natural surroundings, especially the ocean, past personal relationships, and her journey through motherhood. She is interested in expressing a narrative that connects to memories and investigating how the past shapes her approach to artmaking today. This intention is conveyed in figurative watercolor paintings and abstract mixed media work. She has most recently exhibited in New York City at El Barrio’s Artspace, and in St. James, New York at the Mills Pond Gallery.
